Not what I expected.

A lot of times, inns and b&bs post the MOST attractive photos of the place. I literally thought the place was hanging off from the cliff with the breathtaking view. It was just mound of "hills". and the room looked more or less like a college dorm. We stayed in one of those "fancy" room, but there was nothing fancy about it. The description says "post-modern", which i'm not sure where they got that from. Sure, the people were friendly, and we did enjoy their breakfast, but I wouldn't go back there. The bed was really feeling very cheap as well as their bed sheets and towels also. But this place will be good for company retreat. and they do advertise that on their website. But for romantic getaway? nah.
Weekend escape

I just returned from a very relaxing weekend stay at the Minnewaska Lodge in the Shawangunk Mountains. Located at the base of a dramatic cliff view, the lodge is an ideal mix of a quaint B&B (personalized service, fresh baked cookies available throughout the day) and an urban hotel (modern decor and amenities). Nearby are charming restaurants in New Paltz, and scenic hiking at the Mohonk Preserve.
