poor customer service. first ... no staff acknowledged that I was there...no one at "check-in "desk , so i sat in a waiting area...... I asked the woman doing manicures, if this was a waiting area ..I was new client..... plus mentioned WHO I was awaiting for and she said "sure you can wait here"

Finally after 1/2 hour I went to desk again ...they had "no Idea" I was waiting..... She then proceeded to tell me there were "problems here today" and that the person my appointment was with had "left" ...... had quit!

THEN she was so anxious to give me an other appointment, later in the day... or another day

needless to say I did NOT reschedule ........ no will I !!!

BTW.... I found out later that the person who supposedly " quit" was actually fired ......

False info. All I have to say is this salon gives out false info to their clients. I found out that Julia is not a minkys lash specialist! A very close friend of mine told me she failed her phoctos though the comany. I was very upset because i got a card from her and i said omg what a lie. The whole salon tells everyone she is and she ISN"T. Also my experience was not good ! Her hands shaked a lot. The owner was also very rude to her staff. I heard she is a big drunk. Well i would not go their for lashes i would look else where. Hair i couldnt tell ya because i never had a service .

Outstanding Spa - Bar None!!. If there were SIX STARS to rate this spa, I would give it. As a professional yacht captain who has enjoyed spas around the world, it was a terrific surprize when I stepped into Avante Spa in Kingston. Originally, I just wanted a haircut and a manicure, but once I saw this appealing spa, I went for the "full monty." Haircut by Kelly was exactly to order, includig a nice scalp massage. Next is was Jenette for a refreshing mani/pedi and topped the day off off with an invigorating facial at the talented hands of Amy. Of course, I had to schedule a deep tissue massage with Jessica the next day... in fact it was so relaxing that I came back the following day for a second session with Jessica. I mean, she "put me out" like I was a light switch. All the while, the staff provides refreshments unending and after the massage; fresh fruits and nuts to reawaken the conscience. You know, my next course up the Hudson River is going to include yet another stop in Kingston just so I can stop and enjoy the "chi" that this spa has. Very well done to Alicia and her crew.

AVANTE IS THE #1 SALON IN KINGSTON. AVANTE IS AN AWESOME FULL SERVICE SALON. THE STAFF IS EXCEPTIONAL, AND WHEN I WALKED IN THEY MADE ME FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. ITS CLEAN AND FRIENDLY ENVIORMENT IS THE PLACE TO GO IN KINGSTON.

Kayla and staff were awesome!. When I arrived, my appointment was logged on the wrong page and they couldn't find it, however, the staff made sure my appt was kept. Everyone was friendly. The owner gave me a great cup of hot coffee while I waited. (short wait). Kayla did a fantastic job cutting my hair. I'm usually unhappy with haircuts, or not impressed. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Thanks Kayla and Avante! Can't wait to try your other services...and btw I love the setting! :0)

Nice staff but terrible haircut.. Really bummed out. Let's just say I'll be wearing my hair up in a ponytail for several months. I wish the stylist would have listened to my instructions about what I wanted. I have this horrible cut that looks like something from the 60s.

Stylists' Self Importance Overshadowed Experience. The salon is nice enough in a borderline tacky way, but I got the vibe that the stylists thought they were movie stars or something. Other than the initial blowout, I couldn't really tell the difference after my hair was cut and colored, and none of my friends or family could either! So what's the point? A big waste of money in a tacky yet pretentious setting. Bizarre.

Nothing to write home about. I play around with my hair a lot and like t experiment with lots of different stylists. I heard good things about Avante so I went in very excited but when I left I wasn't too happy with my cut. I asked for something fun and edgy, but it was very generic and, well, blah. I guess it would be ok for a trim but if you're looking for something amazing try Lux in Saugerties

great place,great people. i am a regular at this salon, been coming there for almost 2 years. I get a heavy foil highlight on my dark ash blonde hair and kayla gives me a fabulous razor cut (very modern sexy, i get complements all the time). i had forgotten their phone number went looking on the web and came across all these reviews, most of them were very good but some were kind of bad. reading the bad ones were sooooo polar opposite to the experiences that i have had, so i took a closer look at this whole "review" thing. i noticed that avante had considerably more reviews than any other salon which shows that they are popular and a lot of people frequent this salon. i also think that a lot of these bad reviews were fabricated by a local competitor. it doesn't take rocket science to figure this one out, when screen names and dates match glowing reviews on another salons site. all i know is i always leave looking and feeling great,the girls that work there are always friendly and accomodating. i forgot to mention they moved next door to a much bigger space and added some spa services (had a facial and massage for a special birthday treat) which were great also. for people who read this reviews, check it out for yourself i'm pretty certain that you'll be satisfied. and to all of you at avante-with your big new beautiful space, to be growing in this economy you must be doing something right!!! good for you!!

Experience the very best at Avante. I have been using Avante since its inception more than ten years ago. The service, amenties and staff are unparalleled in the area. Avante takes care of ALL my needs...hair,nails,massage, waxing and facials. The employees are friendly, well spoken and polite. Alicia Beisel, the owner is very talented in all areas of hair and nail care and is always open to learning new techiques.

All the employees keep current with the latest trends, styles and "dos." They attend shows and try new products.

Many years ago I tried other salons in the area, but once I came to Avante, I never left. I have recommended it to many friends and they have now been loyal customers for years.

When I see negative reviews I am appalled, as they must be going to a different place. There is only one Avante, and it is superb!
