Tips for Express Yourself Tattoo

Don't go here. This place really messed up my most noticable tattoo. The lines are shaky and the whole thing is a scar now because he went too deep. When I went in to ask about it he was a huge jerk and dismissed me. Don't waste you time with this place. I completely regret going there. Now I'm going to have to pay someone else to fix my tattoo.

Express Yourself Tattoo has changed.... We have undergone a number of changes over the past few years; we've had some great artists (ie: Erin, Kris & Bryan) go on to other studios, but most notably with the closing of the Saugerties Location, actually ENFORCING a no indoor smoking policy, & "trimming the fat" so-to-say as far as removing artists that were harming our image.

Express Yourself Tattoo has always been focused on the customer first,: from creating custom artwork to assuaging fears of nervous clients and also keeping fair pricing in mind. We do offer a 20% discount Daily for those with a Military I.D., group rates and other "special offers". ** There's also a "20% off" print-coupon for shop services at the Yellow Pages website, so if you'd like to check us out for the first time or give us a second chance, print it out & we'd be thrilled to have you swing on by!

Not what they used to be. Kitty and Skinner (The owners) are very cool and down to earth. I honestly can't say anything bad about them as people, now Skinners work is another story. Back in the day he was an amazing tattoo artist but he just doesn't have it any more. Both me and my Fiance have ink from him and it is just plain bad. Lines are very shaky and so off that they don't even match up at some parts. Not to mention in some spots he went to deep with the needle. I think that age has truly caught up to him. They do good peircing though.

Very cool place. They are the most down to earth people I have ever met

Stinks of smoke. The place stinks like an ashtray. I didn't feel especially welcome there. I never got past the front room.

We apologize deeply for any offenses in the past! We have since adopted a permanent NO INDOOR SMOKING POLICY in compliance with NYS Indoor Clean Air Act. And without a doubt our artist line up has changed since 2009 ( for the better, we feel!)

Also, we'd like to apologize for any disappointments from the Saugerties Shop. Sean is absolutely no longer affiliated with us and due to the shop owner having medical issues, the Saugerties Shop was closed sometime around July 2011. Our New Paltz shop is still open however, complete with a clean & sober staff.

Go To Erin in Woodstock and boycott this place. I came in looking for Erin. Everytime I asked about where she went to I was given bs about her leaving the tattoo world. An employee there finally covertly slipped me a piece of paper with her info. how ridiculous and shady. there's no talent left in that shop. Erin works in woodstock, now, fyi.

Best in the state. I had gone to Express Yourself about a month ago now to get my nipples done, I have to admit I was a little timid at first. But that all changed when I stepped into Express Yourself, it was not even a whole thrity seconds aafter stepping into the door that I was greeted by one of the staff you told me the basics of my desired piercing, cleaning and care how long it would take to heal fully and most importantly how much it was going to hurt and how long the pain would be 'intense'. But beside all of that i felt very at home in this shop by its setup and friendly staff so within about half an hour I was all done I felt very little pain and I will be goning back at the end of this month to go get my tongue redone. This was the second shop I had ever been too, but it is deffinately my favorite. I highly recommend Express Yourself Tattoo

What a Tattoo Shop!. This was such a great experience. I never write reviews, but after visiting "Express Yourself" I had to say something. I had been to another tattoo shop up in Albany, it was rather scary to be honest. And then i decided to try it again and went to "Express Yourself Tattoo". The people there were very nice and helpfull, especially Erin who did my tattoo. I had decided on something but I wasn't too sure. She talked to me and we rethought the whole thing and made sure it was something I really wanted. This really impressed me, that she didn't just put any old thing on me to make the quick buck. She made sure it was the perfect thing and something I wouldn't regret, and it ended up turning out great! And overall the atmosphere was fantastic, very relaxed and clean. I never thought a tattoo shop could be so nice! I highly recmmend this shop.

Go to Erin!. I used to hear horrible things about Express. Then, I had problems with the other shop in town. I went to Erin to have some of my piercings changed. Then I went to her for some new piercings (including more exotic ones). She is so great and makes you feel so comfortable. Finally, I've gotten tattoo'd by Erin as well. She spent 45 minutes helping me find the correct image I wanted to use (with much frustration...damn computers!) She advised me on what shades would work with my skin tone, and advised me on placement as well. She is very patient and very nice. The other people around the shop are helpful to,but I gravitate towards Erin. She charges a bit more than other places, but quality work and atmosphere are worth it.
